Introducing our Content Writers

Sophie Allen

I’m Sophie, one of the new Content Writers at 180DC! Having been involved with non-profit organisations in the past, I was drawn to 180DC as an opportunity to contribute positive change to the sector as a whole. As a Bachelor of Arts student (majoring in Anthropology) I’ve always enjoyed writing, but I’m most motivated to write when engaging with topics I deeply care about. With this new blog, we’ll be able to document 180DC’s development as an organisation and research what’s happening more broadly in the social impact space. I’m excited to work with the team and see what we can come up with!

Hamish McLean

Hey! My name is Hamish and I’m part of the new content writer team. I’m in my final year (pending exam success) studying a Bachelor of Commerce and Diploma of Computing. I have always heard great things about the work of 180DC and with a growing interest in consulting and non-for-profits, I’m very eager to help advance the impact of the club. Tired of writing lines of code and hassling my friends to help me de-bug, I’m excited to now write on growing trends within the NFP space and highlight the incredible people that form this 180DC branch.

Philippa Smith

Hey! My name is Philippa and I am currently staying at University College. Originally from Adelaide, I was drawn to Melbourne’s culture and the Melbourne University Bachelor of Commerce course. Having always had a passion for social impact and giving back to the community, I was thrilled when I heard about 180DC as I felt as though the organisation and I shared similar values. I knew I had to get involved. I hope to not only inspire social change through my writing but shed light on the amazing work being done at 180DC. I’m looking forward to getting to know the team and super excited to be working with everyone this year.

Charan Naidoo

My name is Charan and I am a third-year studying Politics, Sociology and French. I joined 180 Degrees Consulting Melbourne University because I am passionate about social impact. Specifically, I am passionate about alleviating economic and social  inequality. I am keen to use my written communication skills to spread the word about the social impact fostered by 180DC.
